What it finds

Near-duplicates
Bursts and retakes, grouped. The sharpest shot starts ringed; tap to keep others too, then confirm once.
Blurry shots
Measured on your iPhone, including motion blur, not only photos that are out of focus.
Screenshots
Read on your iPhone. Boarding passes, codes and tickets past their date get their own pile with Delete all.
Large videos
Anything over 50 MB. Delete it, keep it, or shrink it to a smaller copy that keeps the date, place and albums.

Your photos stay on your iPhone

Gleam sorts your library with Apple’s on-device frameworks. It has no servers, no account, and no analytics or advertising code, so there is nothing to send anything to. The App Store privacy label reads “Data Not Collected”.

Where do deleted photos go?

To the Recently Deleted album in the Photos app, where iOS keeps them for 30 days. Gleam can’t delete anything permanently. To get one back, open Photos, go to Albums, then Recently Deleted, and tap Recover.

Does Gleam delete anything without asking?

No. Your swipes are only marked until you tap Free up. iOS then asks you to confirm, once, for everything in that batch. Undo works on any swipe before that.

Why is the Duplicates pile empty?

Gleam looks through your library on your iPhone the first time you open it. A large library takes a few minutes, and piles fill in while Gleam is open. If a pile stays empty, that kind of photo wasn’t found.

What does shrink do?

It saves a smaller copy with the same date, location, favourite and albums, then moves the original to Recently Deleted. Gleam only offers it when the copy is at least 40% smaller, and keeps the original if the result isn’t.

Why did I run out of reviews?

The free version reviews 150 photos a week, and the count starts over each week. Skipped photos don’t count. Gleam+ removes the limit.

How do I get Gleam+ back on a new iPhone?

Sign in with the same Apple Account, open Gleam’s settings and tap Restore purchases.

How do I cancel Gleam+?

Open Settings on your iPhone, tap your name, then Subscriptions, then Gleam. Cancel at least 24 hours before the renewal date and you won’t be charged again.
